Hand painted by Miranda Thomas, 24K gold forest animals hide among the leaves on crystalline sapphire glaze decorating this 6 1/2" porcelain onion vase thrown in the Miranda Thomas Pottery studio. The gold on blue creates a deep luster that glows in the light.
These bowls have been given as gifts of state over the years, most recently to Pope Francis by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
