"This Peacock bowl is near to my heart. I have always been interested in Persian ceramics (after visiting Iran in 1977), with their alkaline glazes that attract blues and make copper turn turquoise in the firing. This is a perfect example of an alkaline glaze. It isn't as stable as feldspathic acidic glazes, so lines tend to run a little and edges blur. But I got the turquoise that I was after in this bowl." -MT
