9" Sapphire and Gold Peace Bowl I

A Peace dove hand painted by Miranda Thomas in 24K gold on crystalline sapphire glaze decorates this 9" porcelain bowl thrown in the Miranda Thomas Pottery studio.  The gold on blue creates a deep luster that glows in the light. This particular piece also includes richly painted scrolling foliage on the outside

These bowls have been given as gifts of state over the years, most recently to Pope Francis by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
