Large 12" Wide Black Carved Bowl with Rabbit

Once in a while you get a bowl that fired as beautifully as this one. I am so proud of it. This bowl culminates all my years of knowledge and skill. Of marrying liveliness, movement, of the wiley rabbit, and the infinite scrolling of life that he is traveling through. The non-hesitation of line and energy in the drawing...also this bowl particularly highlights the beauty an iron bearing slip gives when fired just right. The celadon colored Jun glaze is saturated with iron from the slip underneath , and where the glaze layer thins out (as it falls over the carved edges), it is highlighted in a soft, lustrous brown. -MT
