13" Sapphire and Gold Peace Bowl I

A Peace dove hand painted by Miranda Thomas in 24K gold on crystalline sapphire glaze decorates this 13" porcelain bowl thrown in the Miranda Thomas Pottery.  The gold on blue creates a deep luster that glows in the light. 

These bowls have been given as gifts of state over the years, most recently to Pope Francis by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
