Whale Platter by Miranda Thomas

This Antarctic whale swims among swirling, scrolling Minoan waves in a one-of-a-kind platter by Miranda Thomas.  

This particular piece has a high level of reduction from the kiln and turned out strikingly red on a much more green base than our usual pieces.  The iron of the slip is red with metallic silver highlights.  

The bold design along with the deep red combine to take Miranda's design in a more modern direction.  We could not make another piece like this if we tried.
